Bic Runga with Lawrence Arabia: A Waiheke Evening at Goldie Estate

A special treat awaits fans of music, summer and wine: The amazing, heralded, fabulous Bic Runga will perform in a stunning location on Waiheke Island, with a backdrop of pohutukawa trees, contoured hillsides and tree-lined bays. Backed by her supercool band, Bic’s huge repertoire of songs will offer an evening of well-known favourites and gems.

Bic is honoured to be supported by one of New Zealand's finest songwriters, multi-award-winning artist Lawrence Arabia, who delivers wry observations of contemporary life in deftly arranged pop vignettes. For this special performance, Lawrence Arabia will perform solo.

Goldie Vineyards is Waiheke’s oldest winery, looking out across Putiki Bay and the Hauraki Gulf. Its gorgeous terrain offers an intimate outdoor concert setting, surrounded by established vines.

Gates open at 3:00pm to allow people to arrive early, partake in food and drink, and get situated on the grass. This event will be relaxed and chill, Waiheke styles. It will truly be an evening to remember: the apex of summer holidays!

Estère with Nikki Ngatai, on Waiheke Island

Estère rocking it in Europe.

Estère rocking it in Europe.

On 8th December, Estère and her band will be flying up to Auckland and making their way over to Waiheke Island for one awesome pre-holiday performance in the Auckland area. Just back from yet another successful European tour, this lauded songsmith will bring to life her alter-ego, Lola, and rock Ostend Hall with her amazing fusion of funk/pop/hiphop/soul.

Estère has been called a ‘breath of fresh air, bringing excitement to an industry that is inundated with carbon copy, shallow trash…unlike anything in the pop genre at the moment.’ She has been nominated for music awards, flown to South Africa and to Europe many times, and held her own as the opener for Grace Jones, Erykah Badu, and many other of her idols.

First up on stage is Nikki Ngatai, whose local cameos and starring roles are increasingly frequent: You can’t have a quality Waiheke show without Nikki appearing somewhere during the course of the evening. From the springboard of her band Oyawa has grown a singer in demand, enchanting audiences in all settings.
